State Report Outline: Due May 11,2020

Solar System Model GRADING GUIDELINES: ( this is due DEC. 16,2019
You will build a Solar System model. It should:
• Include the sun, 8 planets, and Earth’s moon. (20 points)
• Include and label two of the following objects: asteroid, comet, meteor, or constellation. (5 points)
• Neatly label each planet. (10 points)
• Neatly label each planet’s distance from the sun IN MILES and convert to smaller units. (5 points)
• Be creative, colorful, and interesting. (10 points)• Label the inner and outer planets.(5 points)
• You are welcome to include anything additional on your model! It will count as extra credit!
DIRECTIONS:
Some ideas include using a circular mobile, a shoebox, a hanger, or a stand, a drawn picture, cardboard disks, etc. Your solar system model must include the sun, the 8 planets, and Earth’s moon. You will also include your choice of two other object in space (asteroid, comet, meteor, or constellation). You can make the planets out of computer printouts, paper drawings, modeling clay, styrofoam balls, paper mache, cardboard, etc. If you need cardboard, paint, shoebox, or popsicle sticks let me know. Get creative!
Just remember to label each planet with the planet name and the distance (in miles) from the sun. The planets should look accurate and be in the proper position.
We will be working on this project in class. Please bring in ALL the materials you will need for your project by Monday , December 16, 2019 ,.If you are having trouble in creating your Solar System, please come to me and let me know.
