Dear 5th grade students and parents,
Rules and procedures are fundamental tools in life. We follow rules and procedures in our daily lies for things such as approaching traffic lights, driving, and so on.
In our classroom, we must follow rules and our procedures to succeed this school year!
Procedure for Entering Classroom
There is a specific way I want you to enter the classroom. I expect you to follow these procedures:

Consequences
Tracking Your Behavior will be tracked in a worksheet. Here are the key violation symbols to be used in the worksheet for each individual student.

A-Arguing M-Making noises/sounds/tapping P-Physical contract, throwing,
B-Dress Code N-Name calling,swearing,teasing R-Failure to follow directions
D-Disruptive O-Off Task T-Talking
G-Out of seat Y-Tardy
Every day we all start with a clean slate! Consequences will be enforced only for repeated violations committed throughout the week.
Rewards can be a) 5 bonus points on a test or quiz b) excused from one individual assignment c) turn in assignment late for full credit d)open book test,

In our classroom, we must follow rules and our procedures to succeed this school year!
Procedure for Entering Classroom
There is a specific way I want you to enter the classroom. I expect you to follow these procedures:
- You are to line up in front our classroom
- Enter the classroom quietly without running or pushing.
- Take your assigned seat and begin to unpack without the talking and noise.
- Take a morning assignment sheet from our basket and begin working/ sometimes you will have assignment on the board. You must copy nd use your extra notebook to do the morning work.
- You are to place the finished work in the Morning Work Basket.
- Work quietly by yourself.
If You Are Late
- You are late to class if you are not inside the classroom when the bell rings. You must do the following:
- Go to office for a late slip
- Walk into our classroom and sign the Tardy Sheet (Name, date, time) late slip will be placed in the file.
- Take your assigned seat and join the activity; if you don’t know the assignment raise your hand and I will tell you.
- +Consequences for Tardies- Look at Class Rules and Consequences
- It is your responsibility to make up any missed assignments or tests in a timely manner when you return from an absence.
- During the last 5 minutes of class you are to ask a responsible student for morning work, and assignments missed during your absences.
- If you need to take a test you must make arrangements with teacher during the last 5 minutes of the class. Tests can only be given before school or during lunch.
- If you have access to the Internet at home you may e-mail me at [email protected] and ask for missing assignments. Homework is posted in my class website where you can enter through our school website under teacher’s website.
- The teacher will sometimes collect homework, group-group, or individual work. Make sure that all assignments have your full name, date, and subject. Please make sure you add the correct heading “Blessed Be God”
- I will say “Class your attention please” You must:
- Raise your hand and keep it until I put mine down
- Stop talking and look at me
- Wait for me to speck
Procedure for the End of Class and Class Dismissal
- Before the bell rings all should be in their assigned seat making sure all homework is copied in Agenda.
- We will say our prayer “Our Father” everyone is attentive and focused
- Rows will be dismissed to gather things from closet
- When everyone is ready, I will dismiss the classroom
- When we have a visitor in our classroom who is not part of our class such an administer, teacher, student, parent) you are expected to follow the same classroom rules and procedures.
- If the visitor needs to speak to me privately, I expect you to remain in your seat without talking until I finish speaking with the visitor
- If your complete work early you may read independently, work on an assignment for Spanish, write in journal, draw.
- You may go to the restroom if you have completed your work
- You must use restroom during your morning and lunch recess
Consequences
- 1st time: Warning (I will mark my sheet on behavior)
- 2nd time: Detention in class during recess & written assignment (with only five minutes to use restroom)
- 3rd time: Detention at recess and lunch & written assignment / Class Dojo to Parent
- 4th time: Call to Parent
- 5th time: Referral with Administration
